Conditions for approval of electrical appliances, electrical semi-finished products and electrical components

Services and fees:

a)         Preliminary examination of appliances in view of electrical safety standards per national and/or international product safety standards (without warranty).

Compliance Consulting Inc fee per model or series quoted upon request. The cost includes a detailed report with suggested modifications/changes.

It should be noted that basic product evaluations and reviews are generally more efficient when conducted at the client’s facility.

b)         Radio-interference-suppression (RFI) examination by a neutral test laboratory per relevant RFI/EMC and/or national requirements.

Fee for RFI-EMC development work quoted and charged separately by test laboratory.

c)         Compliance Consulting Inc fee for assistance in (RFI-EMC) investigation and development is US$750 per product invoiced separately. This does not include travel or daily fees if required. Fee does include recommendation(s) as to type of suppression (i.e. capacitors, chokes and or filters) (without warrant) required.

Note: It is important that for successful (RFI) suppression development it is recommendable to have at least three (3) sample units of the same model available for testing.

d)         Submission for testing and approval certification prior to production release, Compliance Consulting Inc fees are per product and agency: Typically, charges will be US$1,500 to US$3,500 per model per agency for new construction and major modification, and US$1,000 to US$2,000 per model per agency for minor modifications. All resubmissions, if required, are charged separately. Fees include a preliminary report, photographs and proposed qualification test program for submitting to the relevant agency, where possible.

It should be noted that these fees are based upon a normal approval time period of three to four months for domestic agencies. Some international agencies tend to take longer to provide approvals, up to one year or more. The approval times for domestic agencies begin at the time complete test samples are provided and required pre-deposits are received. All efforts will be made to shorten approval times.

Additional charges will be necessary if the project includes components, such as transformers, ballasts and the like that must be tested and approved in application.

e)         For follow-up services, such as normal renewal(s) of Approval-Certificate(s) at international agencies, or agency-related inquiries a fee of US$100 per hour will be charged according to work efforts.

f)          The fee for conducting an in-house training seminar will be US$750 per day.

g)         The fee for providing on-site assistance for any required Initial Plant Inspection will be US$750 per day.
