Conditions for approval of electrical appliances, electrical
semi-finished products and electrical components Services
and fees:
a) Preliminary examination of appliances
in view of electrical safety standards per national and/or international
product safety standards (without warranty). Compliance Consulting Inc fee per
model or series quoted upon request. The cost includes a detailed report with
suggested modifications/changes. It should be noted that basic
product evaluations and reviews are generally more efficient when conducted
at the client’s facility. b) Radio-interference-suppression (RFI)
examination by a neutral test laboratory per relevant RFI/EMC and/or national
requirements. Fee for RFI-EMC development work
quoted and charged separately by test laboratory. c) Compliance Consulting Inc fee for
assistance in (RFI-EMC) investigation and development is US$750 per product
invoiced separately. This does not include travel or daily fees if required.
Fee does include recommendation(s) as to type of suppression (i.e.
capacitors, chokes and or filters) (without warrant) required. Note: It is important that for
successful (RFI) suppression development it is recommendable to have at least
three (3) sample units of the same model available for testing. d) Submission for testing and approval
certification prior to production release, Compliance Consulting Inc fees are
per product and agency: Typically, charges will be US$1,500 to US$3,500 per
model per agency for new construction and major modification, and US$1,000 to
US$2,000 per model per agency for minor modifications. All resubmissions, if
required, are charged separately. Fees include a preliminary report,
photographs and proposed qualification test program for submitting to the
relevant agency, where possible. It should be noted that these fees
are based upon a normal approval time period of three to four months for
domestic agencies. Some international agencies tend to take longer to provide
approvals, up to one year or more. The approval times for domestic agencies
begin at the time complete test samples are provided and required
pre-deposits are received. All efforts will be made to shorten approval
times. Additional charges will be necessary
if the project includes components, such as transformers, ballasts and the
like that must be tested and approved in application. e) For follow-up services, such as
normal renewal(s) of Approval-Certificate(s) at international agencies, or
agency-related inquiries a fee of US$100 per hour will be charged according to
work efforts. f) The fee for conducting an in-house
training seminar will be US$750 per day. g) The fee for providing on-site
assistance for any required Initial Plant Inspection will be US$750 per day. h) Travel costs will be charged at a
rate of $60 per hour, up to a daily maximum of $500. i) Fees for consulting as Expert
Witness charged at a rate of $200 per hour. Excluded
costs:
The above fees do not include the
following expenses: Test sample(s) and/or component(s)
Agency costs and fees, including
annual fees and inspection fees Agency related materials, such as
standards Transportation and freight charges Telephone (long distance), telefax
(long distance), postage, as well handling and related office expenses of
Compliance Consulting Inc Travel expenses with prior
approval of client. Meeting(s) with
clients/vendors/agencies (daily fee of US$600 is charged), except as quoted
for item a. Seminar materials Terms of payment: All expenses to be payable upon
receipt of invoice(s). A monthly late fee of US$25 may be incurred for
charges more than 30 days old. Agency deposits, charges and fees will
be paid directly to the agency by the client, unless prior arrangements are
made with Compliance Consulting Inc and a deposit is provided for this
purpose. The amount of the deposit is to be estimated based on the agency and
the anticipated costs. If additional funds are deemed necessary, the client
will be notified. Any unused funds will be returned to the client. |
